We sought to build miniature houses that evoke legends and fairy tales and at the same timeconvey a picture of blissful, simple yet well-organised rural life. We aimed for an authentic look to give the illusion of houses built and inhabited by real pixies or sprites. To that end, the visible surfaces were made with common building materials (plaster and wood) and we have added smaller structures (e.g. firewood shelters) and accessories (furniture, tools etc.) to further suggest a real activity.

The pixie house
This is the first mushroom house that we made and we wanted it to look like the simple but cozy dwelling of a pixie.

The oven
This is a traditional bread oven with its firewood shelter. We experimented with the idea of an hexagonal base that allows to combine this piece with another one (the granary). We also experimented with LEDs to give light to the candle and to the ambers inside the oven.
The granary
This is a granary on staddle stones with its corn crib and haystack.
